Sometimes an author just has to be weird. In this Fall 2022 anthology, I explore my darker side--but always with my funny bone intact.

It took a few years to bring my first novel, So Hard to Do, to the public. During the long journey toward publication, I was happy that my short pieces found good homes in anthologies such as this one, where all the stories are set in (you guessed it!) gardens.

Here’s a recent addition to my anthologized work. For this book, I wrote a very sad story about an old woman who loves her sick dog. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t end well! It’s a bit of a departure for me—I’m a big fan of all things Happily Ever After!

I realize I’ve produced many fiction and memoir pieces that have been published over the past few years. My goal is to continue exploring both short- and long-form formats, and see where inspiration leads me. One thing’s certain—short or long, I’ll keep writing!
